I was always a lover of books. Growing up, my parents had to constantly tell me not to read at night. Instead of listening, they would find me under the covers with a flashlight. While I read most genres, my favorite has always been fantasy. I love fantasy movies, fantasy books, and played World of Warcraft as a teenager (yep.. back in the days of The Burning Crusade).
When I was three months postpartum with our twins, I was looking for some brain food and had the crazy idea that I could write a fantasy novel. The rest is history.
I moved from Germany to the United States to attend graduate school and stayed. My husband, a military retiree and I settled down in Florida with our three children. When I am not working, I am likely found outdoors being active with my children or reading.
I'm a romantic fantasy author based in the Tampa Bay area, originally from Germany. I write stories about women who find their strength and identity the hard way — forged from broken pieces.
I write female main characters who don't start out with all the answers. They're messy, complicated, and still figuring out who they truly are. Expect found family, morally gray choices, complicated romance, and women who earn their strength along the way.
I have four series at varying stages of prodution. Details on all all my books can be found on the Work in Progress page.
My goal is two to three books a year, though life with three kids has a way of having other plans. Sign up for the newsletter to stay updated on release dates and writing progress.
I'm primarily on Instagram. I also have a newsletter with writing updates, book recommendations, and more.

Pretty much any subgenre of fantasy, historical fiction, and literary fiction. Occasionally, there might be a psychological thriller sprinkled in. Growing up I loved Stephen King, Tolkien, and John Grisham. These days I read as widely as possible. You can find both bestsellers and indie books on my shelves, with a deliberate effort to read diversely, including many books from BIPOC authors. Some of my favorite authors in recent years have been Sabaa Tahir, Kristin Hannah, Marjan Kamali, Ayana Gray and Shannon Mayer.
I write the stories I want to read, about women who are still becoming themselves, who don't arrive ready, and who find out who they truly are through the things that break them open.

Get a glimpse of The Ashford Sisters and read the first two chapters. If you love Charmed and Practical Magic, this one is definitely for you.
